About Me

Hey there! Welcome to my blog! My name is Gianna, and I’m a 23 year old world traveler. I was bitten by the travel bug during the summer of 2017, when I got to fly to Mexico City for 1 week with my University to film a documentary. A week after that, I traveled to Bologna, Italy to study journalism for a month. I had never been much of a traveler before these adventures, but after that summer, I was hooked.

Here is one of the day trips we took to Florence!

I worked two jobs throughout my next two years of college in order to save money for travel. Six months after returning from Italy, my boyfriend and I went on a two week trip to Lisbon and Madrid. In August 2018, we spent 2 weeks exploring Budapest, Vienna, and Prague.

I brought my family back to Italy for Christmas in 2018. We spent a week in Rome and another in a cottage in the Italian countryside. Three months later I was celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, Ireland with my roommate Alyssa.

In May 2019, I graduated college with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies and Digital Filmmaking. While everyone around me was updating their resumes and frantically searching for a job, I was packing my Osprey backpack for my biggest adventure yet — two months solo backpacking through Europe.

I’d spent two years saving every penny I earned for this trip. I was full of excitement, and yet terrified that it would be a huge mistake. Long story short (click here to read the long story), it was the greatest decision I have made so far. In just two months, I traveled to Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, and Poland.

When my solo adventure was finished, I took a flight from Berlin to Bangkok, Thailand where I was reunited with my boyfriend, Evan. We spent two weeks exploring the country, before finally flying home.

I thought I would be done with travel for a while, after over two months straight of nonstop adventure. Boy was I wrong. The travel bug is biting me stronger now than it ever has before.

I have a few future trips in the works, but for now (while I try to earn back all the money I spend on hostels, flixbusses, and espresso), I am reliving all my adventures through this blog. I want to share my life changing journey with anyone who is willing to read about it!

So without further ado, please enjoy my blog 🙂
